Here are loads and load of photos from Abu Dhabi's Grand Mosque tour.
I was with Jan Hunt, Jan's cousin-in-law Robyn and her husband Michael.
The photos cover the approach to the entrance, the courtyard, the ablutions room, the women's prayer hall, and the main prayer hall.
Our official guide was an Australian woman originally from Sydney. There is a photo of her talking to the group (seated).
The guide told us that the chandeliers are all Italian made and covered with Swarovsky crystals, the glass in the main doors is Murano glass (7.5 tonnes), the carpet (largest inn the world) is NZ wool, the columns are inlaid with lapis lazuli, carnelian, mother of pearl and other semi precious stones. Ai Carumba!
